The second South East Asian Nutrition Leadership Program (SEA-NLP) was held in October 2003, conducted leaning towards and under the auspices of the European Nutrition Leadership Program (ENLP).
With the experience gained from the first SEA-NLP, also conducted in Indonesia, the 2003 program was enriched in topics and methods. The participants, like the first SEA-NLP, came from different South East Asian countries and a variety of institutions involved in nutrition related activities.
It is the intention of the SEAMEO TROPMED-RCCN to hold the SEA-NLP regularly until relevant institutions in the region have been provided with a sufficient number of young potential (nutrition) leaders with sound basic leadership know-how. This would enhance regional networking and would facilitate the region to cope with the near future nutrition problems, expected to be more complex with the fast development in the science of nutrition itself and the change of determinants of human nutrition status.
I would like to wish the participants’ Networking Committee all the best/success in their endeavor to foster regional cooperation in nutrition.
